The Premier League clubs refuse Argentina’s request before the World Cup. Argentina’s World Cup campaign will begin on November 22 with a match against Saudi Arabia. Before that, they will play a friendly match against the United Arab Emirates on November 16. Argentina’s players will have to leave the club early to play the last warm-up match before the World Cup. But doubts have arisen whether he can leave the club for the country.

This year’s World Cup is going to be held during the European football season. According to FIFA’s agreement with UEFA, clubs can retain players until November 14. However, to play a match against the United Arab Emirates, Argentina needs footballers earlier. For this, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) has requested a Premier League club to release the player between November 12-13. The UK’s Daily Mail reported that the club had rejected the AFA’s request.

Neither the club nor the player’s name has been released. Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni has announced a 49-man initial squad for the World Cup in Qatar, with 8 players playing in the Premier League. Among them are Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garancho at Manchester United, Emiliano Martinez and Emiliano Buendia at Aston Villa, Christian Romero at Tottenham, Alexis McAllister at Brighton, Julian Alvarez at Manchester City, and Marcos Senesi at Bournemouth.

Premier League clubs refuse Argentina’s request but PSG coach Christophe Galtier releases Messi

Lionel Messi has asked PSG coach Christophe Galtier to withdraw from the team starting next weekend. Messi will be available for Argentina starting November 7. He has a priority clause in his contract.

Of the eight, not all of them are sure to go to Qatar. Argentina’s final team will be reduced to 26 on November 13. The Daily Mail reported that the club, which rejected the AFA’s request, had also informed the rest of the Premier League. No club has decided not to release Argentine footballers before November 14.

Like the Premier League, the Argentine FA has also started contacting La Liga clubs. Responding to their request, Villarreal agreed to release Lo Celso. However, the midfielder who came on loan from Tottenham is now injured, and there are doubts about his recovery before the World Cup.

Atlético Madrid and Sevilla have the most Argentinian players in La Liga. However, the club having a bad time in La Liga is more likely to not let go of the two players. An Atletico source told the Mail that the request from the AFA would not be accepted.
