Sir Alex Ferguson is back at Manchester United as a ‘Think Tank’

Sir Alex Ferguson is back at Manchester United as a 'Think Tank'

Sir Alex Ferguson retired from coaching in 2013. After that, the Old Trafford team brought eight coaches in 9 years. David Moyes, Ryan Giggs, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Michael Carrick and Ralf Rangnick have worked for United before Erik ten Hoag this year. United’s luck has not returned even after changing the coach every year.

Ferguson is 80 years old. At this age, Ferguson will not be able to stand in the dugout to bring Manchester United back to the rhythm, he will not be able to practice every day. However, United brought Ferguson back. Not as a coach, this Scottish coach will do something special.

The idea came from the head of United chief executive Richard Arnold. He has formed a small team with former coach Ferguson, former captain Brian Robson and former chief executive David Gill to bring the traditional team back into rhythm. This group is named ‘Thinktank’.

Manchester United bring Sir Alex Ferguson back into the fold

Even after retiring from coaching, Ferguson remained emotionally connected to Manchester United. He used to help his beloved United with advice. But this time officially part of the think tank, Ferguson will be able to contribute more to the club at Old Trafford than at any other time since retirement.

The path to Ferguson’s return was actually paved by his former pupil Cristiano Ronaldo. The Old Trafford club does not want to leave Ronaldo, who is desperate to leave United. Ferguson was brought in a few days ago to convince him. At first it seemed that it didn’t work either. Even yesterday, it was informed by Ronaldo that he no longer wants to stay at United.

Today, however, there is another news. Ronaldo posted on Instagram, “The King will play on Sunday.” Sunday means United will play a pre-season friendly against Rayo Vallecano tomorrow. However, it is not known whether Ronaldo was convinced by Ferguson or not. But it can be said that it came to Arnold’s mind to make Ferguson a think tank after explaining to Ronaldo!
